HOW DOES THIS HELP? It allows you to 'really hear' yourself.
As you talk your issues become apparent, through the sessions you will gain insights with the view of developing the strength and inspiration to re-create the life you would prefer to have.
HOW OFTEN? 4 - 8 sessions are usual for short term therapy. It could be less or it could be longer term therapy. Its up to you.
We can meet weekly or fortnightly.
WHAT HAPPENS in Hypnotherapy ?
You just talk and then relax and follow the soothing voice as it drifts you into a place of bliss for changing various behaviours. You can also use the session for regression therapy, early life, or even for 'past life' recall.
Usually a minimum of three sessions, and it usually goes like this -
The first to discuss your case and get a good background to your own unique way and history. We will also aim to do a prelude hypnotherapy relaxation, with a view to helping you gain confidence in the process and in 'letting go'.
The second session we will go deeper, fully integrating the hypnotic commands into your subconscious.
The third session we will go deeper still and as you relax more and I will be topping up & tweaking the hypnotherapy to your individual progress and needs.
The hypnotherapy can be continued with further follow up shorter sessions when required.
The first session is usually preferable to be 90 mins so that we have plenty of time to get a full picture and start the relaxation part.
EMDR, sometimes known as 'rapid eye movement therapy' actually stands for 'Eye Movement De-sensitising and Re-processing' and it involves the client entering into a memory recall of a difficult incident that has had a lasting negative effect.
During the memory recall the client engages in a very natural way for the mind to become desnsitised to the original memory and they will normally re-process information to the mind in a more logical, practical and self-accepting manner.
Before this stage is started it is good practice for the client to be aquainted with a simple self soothing technique (that is personalised to suit them) and the therapist will help them to achieve this.
Your therapist will help you to learn a method such as the 'safe place' vision & affect method, or a similar one.
Emdr may be used within a series of counselling sessions or it could be the main therapy given (although counselling sessions may be required within the complete therapy)
The full emdr program consists of an 8 phased protocol, and it is essential to complete this in the correct order and the correct way. (Jen is an accredited pratitioner and a consultant in the official Emdr therapy protocol, within the Emdr Europe UK & Ireland headquarters)
HOW MANY SESSIONS? This usually takes place over 4 or more of specific emdr visits. It depends, as always, on the person and the issue.
Longer sessions of up to 90 mins are sometimes recommended and these could be interspersed with shorter counselling sessions.
The specific program will be explained to you fully before we start. If you wish to have dedicated Emdr therapy, then you are looking at a minimum of 4-6 sessions. In cases of PTSD or more long standing traumatic situations, you may well require a few more sessions.
HOW DOES IT HELP? The aim is to fully and completely resolve all the symptoms of your trauma so that you can lead a normal life again. The efficacy of Emdr therapy has been clinically proven and is recommended by the NICE
Theta healing is spiritual healing with a dynamic psychological edge.
You will be asked what you want to work on and then your practitioner will go into 'thetahealing' mode to ask for guidance as to working with the issue you have brought.
Things will be gently shown to you; for instance, insightful ideas as to the real situation.
You can also ask for whatever strengths and qualities you think you would need.
Your practitioner will be guiding you through 'The ThetaHealing protocol' and as you begin to feel clearer about your situation, you may find yourself gaining a sense of relief and/or inner knowledge or wisdom.
HOW OFTEN? 1 - 3 sessions are usual.
More sessions if you want different issues addressed
